Floating underwater weighing systems

Floataweigh “Archy Dunker”

Compact floating system for pool or tank:

  • portable (20 lbs), easy to carry and store.
  • hanging seat attaches with snap clips.
  • telescoping tubes adjust seat depth.
  • 3’ x 4’ water surface foot print.
  • for 4 foot water depth.
    Two (2) electronic load cells.

Floataweigh “Tetra”

Floating system with larger weighing platform:

  • portable (35 lbs).
  • larger platform for weighing in shallow water.
  • platform depth can be adjusted.
  • 3’ x 4’ water surface foot print.
  • works with ~3 foot water depth.
    Four (4) electronic load cells.

A floating weighing system provides great flexibility. It can be placed in any water pool, spa or large tank. It is a great choice for existing residential or institutional pools.

The Floataweigh is a patented device comprising a framework, floats and a submerged weighing platform. No difference was found between the Floataweigh and a tank-based weighing system in a 2014 research study (Andrist et. al., 2014. Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, vol.46, issue 5S, page 622).

It is very convenient to be able to remove the weighing system from the pool area for storage and also to check the weighing system calibration in air with known weights.

The Archy Dunker model is perfect for seated body immersion in a pool with a 4 foot depth. It is easy to put in or remove from the water. The seat detaches from the arch with spring clips so it is easy to take apart and carry.

The Tetra model has larger floats and a larger platform so the feet can rest on it. This design accommodates shallow pools or tanks that are not deep enough for the legs to hang down below the rest of the body.

The Tetra has 4 load cells and a larger platform. It is a good choice for testing at colleges, YMCAs & health clubs.

A Floataweigh can also rest on top of an existing or future water tank.
