Software for hydrodensitometry underwater weighing systems

After each underwater weighing trial, two vertical lines (blue & red above) can be moved to select a segment of the graph of weight. The weight samples between the blue and red lines are averaged and displayed in large numerals as Average Weight (Kg). The standard deviation (SD) and the number of samples (N) are also displayed.

Residual lung volume is predicted from Age & Height by 3 equations including the most recent ones from the European Respiratory Society.

Height may be entered in either inches or centimeters. Weight may be entered in either pounds or kilograms. If the units are changed, the weight is automatically corrected for the new units.

If the required data was entered, Body Density, Fat% and Lean Mass will be calculated and displayed.

Data may be saved as a permanent file, re-displayed and edited. Saved trials may be averaged & printed.

In the screen shot above, the selected segment of the graph of weight occurred while the subject was weighed with the head above water, so the Partial Immersion Method is checked to enable calculation of a predicted head volume from two head girths (see: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9506326/).

EXERTECH hydrodensitometry (“HD”) software may be used to calculate density for many applications as diverse as classroom demonstrations and grading tuna.

EXERTECH designs battery-powered, computerized weighing apparatus for many applications that use from one to four load cells. Hydrostatic weighing systems for 1 to 4 load cells.
